
Isabel Salazar
Isabel Salazar was born and raised in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Nayarit, Mexico. Despite growing up in poverty, she persevered and earned a scholarship to pursue a career in business as an executive secretary. Together with her husband, she fought so that her three children could study and prepare for life. Today, she has the joy of being called a grandmother with three granddaughters.
Isabel is an active leader and member of her community. She has received awards for her leadership. With six other women leaders she formed the Mountain View Solidarity Fund, which provides support and hope to the most vulnerable families. She has been part of great achievements in organizations such as PIA Interaction and De. She worked with leaders and youth to build the Teen Center recreational space. She was part of the Measure V Rent Control fight with the Mountain View Tenant Coalition for a fair and dignified community. She has also been an active volunteer at St. Athanasius Church for over 20 years and has completed holistic courses to address physical and emotional health. Her motto is “unity makes strength with trust, love and service.”
Isabel is always willing to give her best for the good of others. The best thing about her is the beauty she sees in the darkest of times and her ability to communicate. She uses her superpowers to help the people within her community.
